Sleep Clarity call

Know what I would

do next

A Sleep Clarity Call is a focused assessment of your child’s current sleep. I’ll look at what is happening, ask the questions that help me make sense of it, and give you a clear recommendation on where I think your attention is best placed.

Work out what matters and

where I would start

By the time we speak, you may already have several ideas about what could be affecting your child’s sleep. The useful part is working out which of those things are actually relevant, how they fit together and which ones I think need addressing first.

During the Sleep Clarity Call, I take what you’ve shared, ask further questions where I need more context, and narrow it down to what I think matters most for your child.

You’ll leave knowing what I would prioritise, what I would leave alone for now and why.

What happens when you book

01

Before the call

You’ll complete a short intake form about your child and their current sleep. I’ll review it before we meet so I already have the context I need and can use our time together well.

02

During the call

We’ll meet for 45 minutes on Google Meet. I’ll build on what you’ve shared in the intake form, ask further questions where I need more context and talk you through what I’m noticing as we work through it together.

03

After the call

I’ll send you a written Sleep Clarity Report with my initial assessment, the priorities I would address first, any immediate recommendations that are appropriate and what I recommend you do next. If ongoing support is recommended, the more comprehensive intake and assessment happens at that stage before I develop your Family Sleep Strategy.

Sleep Clarity report

Your priorities written down

After our call, I’ll put my initial assessment into a written Sleep Clarity Report so you have a clear record of what I think is contributing, what I would prioritise and what I recommend you do next.

Where there are changes I think you can make straight away, I’ll include those too. You can use the report to focus on the areas I think are relevant and leave the rest alone for now, rather than trying to act on everything we discussed at once.

The Sleep Clarity Report is not a comprehensive Family Sleep Strategy. It does not include detailed schedules or implementation support. If I think that level of planning and support would be useful, I’ll explain that in my recommendation.

What happens next depends on what I find

There is not a set next step after a Sleep Clarity Call. My recommendation depends on what I find when I assess your child’s sleep.

Sometimes there are changes I think you can make yourself using the recommendations in your Sleep Clarity Report. If I think a more comprehensive Family Sleep Strategy and support while you implement it would be useful, I’ll recommend ongoing virtual support.

There are also times when something I’m seeing warrants assessment by your GP or another relevant health professional. I’ll explain what I’ve noticed and why I think it should be looked into, without stepping outside my scope to diagnose it.

You’ll know what I recommend from here and why.

common questions

A few things you may be wondering

Is 45 minutes enough to assess my child’s sleep?

Before we meet, I’ll have already reviewed your short intake form, so we are not starting from the beginning on the call. The 45 minutes gives me time to build on that information, ask the questions I need to ask and work through my initial assessment with you. I then put my findings and recommendations into your written Sleep Clarity Report after the call.

I’ve tried sleep training or other approaches before. Does that matter?

Yes. What you have already tried gives me useful information, including what changed, what did not and where things became difficult. I may recommend changes to settling, but only where I think they are relevant to what is happening with your child.

What if you notice something that needs to be assessed by another health professional?

I’ll explain what I’m noticing and why I think further assessment is appropriate. If something sits outside my scope of practice, I’ll recommend that you speak with your GP or another relevant health professional. Sometimes sleep support can continue alongside that process, and sometimes it makes sense to investigate further first.

Do I need to know which ongoing support package I need?

No. If I think ongoing virtual support is warranted, I’ll recommend the appropriate package after I have assessed your child’s sleep and explain why I think it is the right fit. You do not need to choose one before booking your Sleep Clarity Call.

What happens to the $150 if I continue into ongoing virtual support?

The full $150 you paid for your Sleep Clarity Call is credited towards the virtual support package I recommend.

I’m interested in Premium In-Home Support. Do I book a Sleep Clarity Call first?

No. Premium In-Home Support has its own application pathway for families in Yamba and surrounds, so you can apply for that service directly without booking a Sleep Clarity Call first.
